Unlike traditional integrated courses, this pathway is fully funded through a regulated Future Earnings Agreement — meaning you pay nothing upfront. Application Phases
Phase 1: Basic Pilot Knowledge
An online assessment covering basic aviation knowledge alongside key eligibility checks. This stage confirms applicants have the core understanding and resilience required to endure ATPL training.
Phase 2: Aptitude
Industry-standard aptitude testing designed to evaluate the core competencies required of airline pilots, including problem-solving, situational awareness, multi-tasking, and decision-making under pressure.
Phase 3: Interviews
A two-stage interview process assessing the personal qualities required of future airline pilots. The first interview is conducted online to evaluate motivation and communication. Applicants who succeed are invited to a face-to-face interview with the Skybound selection team to assess professionalism, resilience, and overall suitability for the Airline Ready programme.
Phase 4: Due Diligence
Final eligibility checks are completed before enrolment. These include verification of financial suitability for the Future Earnings Agreement, confirmation of a valid Class 1 aviation medical, and proof of UK or EU citizenship. Training partners may also require additional assessments to confirm readiness before flight training begins.
