Who is eligible for Skybound funding?
Skybound considers applications from aspiring commercial pilots who meet baseline eligibility and readiness criteria for progression through our modular pilot training pathway toward ATPL.
Our role is to assess suitability, preparation, and commitment before candidates progress toward training delivered by partner organisations. Funding, where approved, is delivered through a regulated funding partner.
Baseline eligibility
To be considered, applicants must:

Be 17 or older at the time of application

Hold a UK or EU passport with the unrestricted right to live and work in the UK / Europe

Meet ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 or higher

Be eligible to obtain and maintain a Class 1 aviation medical

Demonstrate a genuine commitment to professional pilot training
No prior flight experience is required to apply.
What we assess during the application process
Eligible applicants progress through a structured assessment process designed to evaluate readiness for professional pilot training. This may include:

Fundamental aviation knowledge and learning capability

Cognitive aptitude relevant to flight training

Motivation, resilience, and long-term commitment

Professional conduct, communication, and reliability
Progression through each stage is conditional.
Funding and progression
Where approved, funding is delivered through a Future Earnings Agreement (FEA) administered by our regulated funding partner, StepEx.
Eligibility for funding is determined by the funding partner as part of the application and approval process. Skybound is not a lender and does not provide consumer credit.
There are no guarantees of funding or training outcomes.
